As we enter the December holiday, I encourage you to see this time as an opportunity to connect with and support your teenager’s growth. Adolescence is a transformative phase, and understanding their unique needs can enhance their emotional and mental well-being. First, set up a balanced schedule that incorporates study time, relaxation, and responsibilities. Routine offers stability, while flexibility allows them to explore interests, build skills, and express themselves.
Communication is essential. Create a safe space for open conversations about their thoughts, goals, and any challenges they may face. Active listening and empathy can help them feel valued and understood.
Encourage healthy habits, such as regular exercises, balanced meals, and quality sleep, which support mental and physical health. Limiting screen time and guiding them towards creative or enriching activities will also benefit their growth.
Let the break be a memorable and transformative time that strengthens both their academic motivation and emotional well-being
Warm regards, Dr. Blessing Namara Doctor & Psychologist
