A Tribute to Our Debate Champions
As I sit down to reflect on their incredible journey, I am filled with an overwhelming sense of pride, awe and gratitude. These three have not only redefined the art of debate but have also inspired a generation of young minds to embrace the power of critical thinking, creativity and effective communication. Seeing them from their humble beginnings as timid young debaters in SMACOL’s inter-class competitions, to their current status as national and regional champions.
They have consistently pushed the boundaries of excellence. Their remarkable transformation is a testament to their unwavering dedication, unrelenting passion, and unshakeable commitment to team work.
They really inspire me as their teacher and mentor, and countless others with their unique blend of intellectual curiosity, creative genius, and emotional intelligence. They have mastered the art of crafting compelling arguments, delivering them with conviction and charisma, and winning over audiences with their infectious enthusiasm.
They have demonstrated that debate is not just about winning arguments but about building bridges, fostering empathy, and creating positive change:
Mr. Musobya Duncan
Their impact extends far beyond the debate hall. They have inspired a movement of young people to engage in respectful dialogue, challenge assumptions, and seek out diverse perspectives. They have demonstrated that debate is not just about winning arguments but about building bridges, fostering empathy and creating positive change.
As you embark on your next journey, I want you to know how proud I am of each and every one of you. You are more than just exceptional debaters- you are visionary leaders, creative thinkers and passionate change-makers.
Keep shining John Baptist, peace and Micah! Your legacy will continue to inspire and motivate future generations. I have no doubt that you will make a profound impact on the world.
With love, admiration and best wishes.
