SCHOOL BACKGROUND
We Are One of The Largest, Best Performing Secondary Schools In Uganda
St. Mary’s College Lugazi started in 2008 on the 2nd of January. After being launched, it had two classroom blocks doubling as dormitories with a central pit latrine shared by both teachers and students. The first day opened with around 8 students who were outnumbered by the number of teachers who were 26. However, the story had changed by the end of the year, closing with about 300 students. The college was started by Senior educationists led by Mr/Mrs. Ssenyonjo Moses K. pioneer head teacher Naalya Secondary School Namugongo.
It is managed by a board of directors that constituted Mr. Matovu Vicent (Director Finance Proprietor of our Lady of Africa Schools, Mr. Mukungu Mbuga (ABC) Director Academics and pioneer Deputy Headteacher Naalya S.S Namugongo, Mrs Freda Ssenyonjo and Mr. Ssenyonjo Moses.
